Mandelson Files Leak 1,500 Pages, Sparks Political Fallout

The British government published more than 1,500 pages of "Mandelson files," raising questions in political circles and prompting the BBC to deploy AI software for faster processing of the document. Important information that came to light included confidential correspondence from the current Work and Pensions Secretary Pat McFadden to Mandelson complaining that Labour MPs care only about "who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others" in May 2025. However, both the government and McFadden insisted on defending him by stating that what he actually cares about is transforming the welfare system into one where the main thing is people working their way out of the benefits system. Moreover, previously unknown WhatsApp messages were uncovered between the former Health Secretary Wes Streeting and Mandelson concerning a dinner held by the Murdochs' media empire before the election.
